When preparing your house for sale, remember the
importance of 1st impressions. Buyers start to from an impression of your home as soon as they drive up so start at the front and work your way through.
Some
easy things you can do before open inspections to make your home more appealing to buyers:
- Sweep your front walkway.
- Park extra cars / boats / bikes away from your property.
- Trim and weed the garden.
- Mow the lawn.
- Clean windows and window coverings throughout.
- Make sure your kitchen and bathroom shine.
- Quick once-over with the vacuum, carpets should be clean.
- Place fresh flowers in the main rooms.
- Let plenty of light into your home by opening curtains and blinds.
- Switch on all lights.
- Make beds and put all clothes away.
- Keep wardrobes and cupboards tidy it makes them seam larger.
- Clean out the spare room, tidy the garage and put all toys away.
- Turn off television and radio.
- Turn on a heater on cold days or air conditioning / fan in summer.
- Keep pets out of the way and pet areas clean and odour-free.
- Make your home anonymous by removing family photos.

- Make sure entry doors and locks open easily.
- Make sure roof and gutters are clean and in good condition.
